Notice The Parallel
From my many posts regarding Israel and Judaism I believe you readers can deduce I have a great admiration for the Israeli's. It goes beyond mere admiration, it is part of my Christian belief that we are instructed by the Lord to honor the nation of Israel. I believe the commandment is contained in Genesis 12. We are not to disrespect what the Lord has consecrated, to do otherwise is at our peril. David slew an Amalekite for helping the mortally wounded King Saul hasten the end his life. David reasoned even by helping Saul die, the Amalekite sinned against God because Saul was the Lord's annointed one.
There are many times in Jewish history, the Chosen People have strayed and were subseqentially punished. They were never abandoned by God though. Every time they were conquered, and taken off into captivity as slaves, they were forgiven and returned to their land with a second chance to atone for their sinnful ways and live righteously.
God has not made the same covenant with America as he did with Israel, but we do have a differnet covenant, one of salvation through Jesus Christ. America has been blessed by the Lord with riches and abundance, I see the parallel of our nation and that of Israel which was counselled to follow in His ways, but over the years strayed from God.
These troubles we have in America today perhaps are the warning signs of the pending wrath which may yet befall us if we don't get back to the straight and narrow. The Jews had Jerusalem sacked and burned, their high preists killed and the Holy Temple torn down, then the remaining survivors were taken into captivity and held as slaves in another land for decades or longer. But even with the severe punishment through the ages God did not annilalte the Jews, He gave them another chance, then another and another, never did He ever abandoned them.
God may punish America, we may be given another chance we may suffer our own destuction, for sure though we will not be abandoned. Israel is the apple of the Lord's eye, and we are descended from the Jews. Keep your faith in God and country, we will get through this one way or another. The Lord is with us.
