Census Cha Cha Cha Anyone?

I was listening to a Houston talk radio personality, Michael Berry. You may have heard him before, sometimes he subs nationally for Mark Levin.

Michael Berry's April 2, show, had as his guest Congressman Ted Poe (R) of Texas. The discussion mostly revolved around the census. A little background on Ted Poe first. He was a successful trial lawyer, a hard nosed Criminal Courts Judge for several years, State Rep, and now Congressman. Many in Texas want him to replace Kay Bailey Hutchinson when she retires from the Senate in 2012. Him or Ron Paul, I know we're blessed.

back to the census discussion. Poe remarked the constitution only requires 1 question be answered every ten years. "How many people live in your home?" That's it.
The rest of the questions are government intrusion. Currently the fine, (which he said he's never heard of anyone prior to 2010, being fined)is $100 for not answering all the questions on the form. It can be $500 for not answering truthfully.

Poe also mentioned the waste which has added to the cost of collecting the census. Normally in decades past, all we got was a form in the mail. Obama's census, is a pre-letter alerting you the census was coming. The actual form. Another card saying the census should have arrived, and then another card, reminding everyone to send the census back by April 1.

How many of you read in the census, the instruction advising not to mail it back until April 10, just in case your household information changed (ie a birth or death, or a newly unemployed relative moves in)?

So ever the efficient Obama; We are to mail the census form back by April 1st, but hold the same document until the 10th. Great, just great. He's got half of America doing the Cha Cha Cha, over his flippin' form.

One more thing Rep.Poe said, he told about being in a small town north of Houston, and saw a bumper sticker on a truck. YOU CAN HAVE MY CENSUS WHEN YOU TAKE MY GUNS OFF MY BODY. Poe laughed and laughed about seeing that one. He said, clearly we need to stop with all the questions, only ask what the Constitution requires, and save all the mailings. A savings to the taxpayer of about $5 Billion. Look for that in November from Ted Poe. A sane human being.
