Obama Policies Diminishing Our Liberties

By: Phil Brennan Newsmax.com

There's an old story about a farmer who upon returning home from a week in the city was met by his handyman with some bad news. Asked if anything had happened while he was away, the handyman said, "Not much, except that the dog died."

"The dog died?" the stunned farmer asked. "How did he die?"

"He died from eating burnt horse flesh," was the casual reply.

The farmer then asked, “Where did he get that?"

Another casual reply: "He got it after the barn burned down with the horses inside."

When asked how the barn had been set afire he muttered that “it was sparks from the house when it was on fire.”

"The house burned down?” the stunned farmer asked. "How did it burn down?"

"It started when a candle set the drapes on fire."

"What candle?" the farmer asked.

"The one beside your wife's coffin." the handyman said.

“My wife’s coffin?” the shocked farmer exclaimed, “Are you saying my wife died?”

“Yes. Outside of that, nothing’s new.”

I think about that story whenever anybody asks me what’s happening to America under the Obama administration.

I begin the long and frightening litany of the slow but steady march toward socialism that has been taking place since Barack Obama took office . . . his arrogance . . . his egomania . . . his determination to change America into his Marxist vision of what it should be . . . his disdain for such longtime allies as Israel and his fawning obeisance to their enemies. Let's not forget his government healthcare plan that most do not want.

No president in history has squandered the nation’s resources so recklessly or placed such a crushing burden on future generations of Americans.

I'm just barely getting started with the long list of Barack Obama's assaults on our liberty and our prosperity when I suddenly realize there's a much easier way to explain what has happened to our nation under his presidency.

Instead of wasting time and our breath lets just sum it all up by simply explaining that the dog died.
