Fall Out

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs yesterday testified before the Senate's Armed Service committee. Four star Obama Lackey Mike Mullens stated repeal of DADT was a foregone conclusion. As a point of order, Mullens noted his polling of the rank and file indicated 70 % of the military was good with the repeal. As a further support, Mullen's added our combat forces in Afghanistan are serving alongside multinationals who do allow gays to openly serve without problem. Now there's some solid reasoning for you. What else would be expected of a highly disciplined force such as ours. These men are from a culture that instills this level of obedience. That doesn't mean they like it, and it doesn't mean that is what they prefer in the ranks of American forces.

But this is a time when fantasy replaces reality. The way one wants it to be replaces the way things are.

Mullen's gruffly or what passes as gruffness from our 4 star military manager, stated if those in the service didn't like serving with gays, they should leave the service and those thinking about serving, seek employment else where.

As it stands some 32% of the current military state they would have a problem with just such a policy. If even half that number separated from the services it would be a major disruption of our readiness state and it would harm national security.

Today the heads of three major branches, 3/5ths of the joint chiefs are out of step with Chairperson Mullens. The Chiefs of the Army, the Air Force and the Marine Corps Commandant are speaking out against this policy change. They are bucking Obama, Gates Mullens and the leftist minority in the military. This issue is fast becoming a political issue in an organization that must remain free of politics. The three shall we call them "conservative right wing extremist racist homophobic" generals are not alone. I would even venture, the preponderance of the Officer Corps which are better educated than the enlisted ranks, would for military necessity and unit cohesion reasons alone, lean to the right on this matter.

At a time when war with Iran or North Korea could flare up, a divided command structure is the last thing we need to be dealing with. The ones who will suffer most from this division are the tip of the spear types.

I question the motive of the gays who wish to serve. If the motive is to serve the country, then putting their personal sexual preferences on the back burner is a good military start. Actually in any facet of our society sexual preferences should remain on the personal information level and not be flagged about for the world to know.

Serving openly in the military represents another obstacle to be conquered by the gay community on the road to legitimacy. Same sex marriage is another major hurdle they are working to cross. This isn't about what is good for the country, it is about what is good for gays.

  1. At least there are no verbalizations coming from his posterior aspect.

Just like a magican, he pulled that number out of thin air.

Butt, then again, he is in the Navy and walks with a funny swagger.
