By Aaron Cantor USAF (ret)
I don’t think there was ever any doubt that the so called super committee was going to fail.
The DemocRATS never had any intention of striking any kind of workable deal in the first place, they wanted this failure so they could blame the Republicans and at the same time let the Bush tax cuts expire, which will give them what they want tax increases under another name.
As soon as the committee admitted failure on Monday, the finger pointing began, with each side trying to score political points and playing GOTCHA against each other.
As I have said many times before, there are no saints on either side of the aisle, but I always was under the (perhaps misguided) impression that our elected officials were supposed to be working for the good of the WHOLE COUNTRY and ALL OF THE PEOPLE IN IT REGARDLESS OF PARTY, OR AM I WRONG?
True to form that cheap sidewalk hustler who is illegally squatting in the White House, and calls himself the President, immediately started blaming everyone but himself.
Typical of a true narcissist, he couldn’t possibly be the one who is dead wrong on all counts, he is much too brilliant for that, and meantime Harry Reid, the curmudgeon in chief and the man behind the idea for the super committee immediately started blaming the Tea Party and millionaire lobbyists for the failure (go figure).
One of the people on this blue ribbon committee of idiots was Senator John Kerry (one of the richest guys in the senate) who said: “To have something on the table that doesn’t ask the wealthiest people in the nation to pay their fair share of the burden is unconscionable.” How much are you paying JOHN?
This is the same guy who moored his luxury yacht in neighboring Rhode Island to Save $500,000 By Docking his 76-Foot Luxury Yacht Out Of State and get out from under$437,500 in one-time sales tax. He would also have to pay $70,000 in annual excise taxes. He had the boat built in New Zealand (also a tax dodge), I mentioned this in a column a couple of days ago but I thought it worth mentioning again so no one forgets what a phony slug this dirt bag really is.
Congress voted in August to create the super committee as part of a compromise that averted a federal default and raise the limit on how much money the government could borrow to keep running.
Reid, Berkley and Rep. Joe Heck R-Nev., voted in favor of the agreement. Heller R-Nev., voted against.
There is some talk that Congress might act between now and January 2013 to scale back the automatic cuts known as sequestration, but Reid says very emphatically he will have none of it, and Obama says he will veto any attempt to roll back the automatic cuts.
If the cuts go forward as is, it will gut the military and we will have what amounts to a paper tiger for a military which will not be able to perform its’ mission of adequately defending the country.
What it boils down to is, the country is sinking into the abyss, and YOU SONS O BITCHES in Washington are not willing to step up to the plate and do one GOD DAMNED THING ABOUT IT!
A FIRING SQUAD IS TOO GOOD AND TOO MERCIFUL FOR YOU!
WAKE UP AMERICA!!!
