FYI Concealed Carry Info

If any of you are considering taking out a concealed carry permit Fox News had some good information on this morning.

Utah is the least expensive state to get a 5 year CCH permit. They charge $65.20 and it's good for 5 years, renewals are $10. Residency is not required to obtain the Utah permit. Only a four hour gun safety course is required, and the Utah permit is recognized in 32 states.

Here in Texas, it's $150 for an 8 hour course/test and $170 for the initial 5 year permit, renewals are almost as much as the original permit.

Some of the 18 states where the Utah permit isn't recognized are the expected usual culprits- Cal, NY most of New England, Il, Wisc, Iowa, Mich, Ore, Wash. Nebraska New Mex.

Statistics say a CCH holder is 12 times more law abiding than the average citizen and 7 times more than a policeman.

Personally I recommend attending a full CCH course because legal ramifications involved with concealed carry are covered which are not in most solely gun safety courses. Plus you need to be versed on your local state laws.
