Writing in the Wall Street Journal, John Fund reports the following:

"...there have been signs in recent weeks that party leaders are planning an ambitious, lame-duck session to muscle through bills in December they don't want to defend before November. Retiring or defeated members of Congress would then be able to vote for sweeping legislation without any fear of voter retaliation.

"I've got lots of things I want to do" in a lame duck, Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D., W. Va.) told reporters in mid June. North Dakota's Kent Conrad, chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, wants a lame-duck session to act on the recommendations of President Obama's deficit commission, which is due to report on Dec. 1. "It could be a huge deal," he told Roll Call last month. "We could get the country on a sound long-term fiscal path." By which he undoubtedly means new taxes in exchange for extending some, but not all, of the Bush-era tax reductions that will expire at the end of the year."

Of course, Rockefeller fails to consider that allowing even part of the Bush tax cuts to expire to amount to the single largest tax increase in U.S. history--an act that will only further cripple the economy.

Tax cuts, coupled with massive reductions in government spending, is the tried-and-tested method for quickly ending a recession or a depression...a strategy that the present regime steadfastly refuses to implement.

Democrats also plan to use the lame-duck session to ram through a ban on secret ballots when workers vote on whether or not to Unionize. Such a thing is as unAmerican as one can get.

Other possible lame-duck schemes include passing the dreaded 'cap and trade' energy tax, which will add another $3000 per year to the costs average families have to pay for energy, and a federal motor-voter registration plan, which is wide-open for voter fraud and which will override any state voter laws.

The following video explains the dangers of the lame-duck session in common, easy-to-follow terms that would be suitable to pass along to all citizens, particularly the elderly, the young, and those who do not keep up with politics.

To be forewarned is to be forearmed.
