Did Boehner Sucker The Left?

Recall if you will the republicans who campaigned on keeping the Bush tax cuts in force as one of their main planks. Within a week following the election John Boehner stated he would be willing to accept half a tax cut loaf, rather than no tax loaf at all. (the bait).

Nancy Pelosi on fire from losing her Speakership, and Obama who is losing his base, both vowed for separate reasons to let the tax cuts expire. They tested the vote and found a shell shocked group of 2010 congressional survivors and some very nervous 2012 persons-in-a-barrel awaiting their turn of trial by voter fire. The best these two Leftys could muster, is retain the less than $250,000 tax cuts in the House and an unclear read from the Senate. (circling the hook).

Obama held his bi partisan friendship meeting, then both sides promptly began slinging insults and threats. (yo yoing the line)

Boehner and Cantor leaned back in their seats and smiled as they promised reversing anything tax wise in January, they didn't get from Lame duck Pelosi in December. ( that spinner lure drives her crazy) Pelosi gets a lame vote and passes the all but $250,000 paperwork to the Senate.

Obama negotiates from a false sense of strength, (He strikes the hook) , The weak kneed demonrat senators fail to get a cloture vote on holding the line on, no tax cuts for the rich.

Ads from the Obama base air immediately questioning Obama's leadership ability to not mess up a wet dream. First they play Obama demanding all the Bush tax cuts expire. They play the clip of Boehner saying he's willing to take half a tax loaf if that's all he can get. Boats all over the lake start up their motors and head in to the boat ramp.

Boehner takes out his fillet knife and starts reeling in the black and white sucker fish.
