Today the 32-year old rising Republican star joins McMorris Rodgers in Congress. She will serve on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee as well as the Small Business Committee.

Ben Quayle (R-3rd District)
About: The son of former Vice President Dan Quayle survived a competitive GOP primary and general election to win retiring eight-term Republican Rep. John Shadegg’s seat. To win elected office for the first time, he had to weather controversies over his editorial contributions to a Web site called “Dirty Scottsdale” and a campaign ad in which he called President Obama the “worst president in history.”

Tim Scott (R-1st District)
About: Five of the seven South Carolina representatives in the 112th Congress will be freshmen, but few will attract as much attention at the outset as Rep. Tim Scott. Scott, the first African-American Republican from the Deep South since the late 1800s, defeated the sons of Senator Strom Thurmond and Governor Carroll Campbell to win the Republican nomination. Scott will serve on the Transportation and Small Business committees.

Morgan Griffith (R-9th District)

Todd Rokita (R-4th District)
About: In 2002, Rokita was elected Indiana secretary of state at the tender age of 32. Prior to elective office, Rokita was a practicing attorney and joined the secretary of state’s office as general counsel in 1997. Rokita was elected to the Republican House Steering Committee, which doles out committee assisgnments to all U.S. House members. He will serve on the Budget Committee in the new Congress.

Trey Gowdy (R-4th District)
About: A former clerk for a federal district court judge who spent 10 years as a solicitor (district attorney) in South Carolina, Gowdy defeated Republican Bob Inglis in the primary by attacking Inglis from the right. Gowdy will serve on both the Judiciary Committee and the Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Adam Kinzinger (R-11th District)
About: Just 32 years old, Kinzinger is widely considered to be one the GOP’s rising stars. Kinzinger was elected to the McLean County Board while still in college, then joined the U.S. Air Force in 2003 and served three tours of duty in Iraq before leaving the service in 2009 to run for office, defeating incumbent Democrat Debbie Halvorson easily in November. Kinzinger was chosen by Speaker-elect John Boehner to be part of the House transition team. He has also been tapped to sit on the Energy and Commerce Committee.

Easy does it anon, they weren't sworn in yet. They were at least vetted and are citizens meeting the constitutional requirements to hold office. It remains to be seen whether their oaths are upheld though. They have a complex task ahead and the outcome will determine whether you, your kids and all of posterity will live under the rule of law in this constitutional republic or they will live by decree of the ruling class.
