And what now has enhanced the president’s interest enough at Ground Zero to motivate him to finally pay his respects? Sadly, no more than simple self-congratulatory motivation for something he did not do…

President Obama, well over two years into his presidency, and prior to that, a handful of years as a United States Senator, is for the first time, going to New York City’s Ground Zero – the site of our nation’s worst attack on native soil.  And what now has enhanced the president’s interest enough at Ground Zero to motivate him to finally pay his respects?  Sadly, no more than simple self-congratulatory motivation.

Prior to his trip today, the only other substantive moment between Barack Obama and Ground Zero was Obama’s strong support of a Muslim Mosque to be built in the vicinity of the very site destroyed by Muslim terrorists.
Take a moment to let that sink in…
And it is also now appears that President Obama took less time deciding to scramble a quickly organized Ground Zero photo opportunity following the alleged killing of Osama Bin Laden than the time he took as Commander in Chief in deciding whether or not to actually kill Osama Bin Laden after having discovered his exact location.
Take another moment to let that sink in…
Reports by the mainstream media are now propagating at an ever-increasing pace regarding the hesitation and uncertainty emanating from Obama as he fretted over what to do with the information that we finally knew where Osama was hiding.  A UK report indicated Obama told an exasperated group of high ranking military and Intel officials that he needed to “sleep on it.”  Further reports have confirmed the President of the United States was in fact golfing the day of the Bin Laden mission, and the now infamous photo of the situation room clearly shows Obama sitting in golf attire in the corner of the room.

Within a day of the mission, CIA Director Leon Panetta himself confirmed that President Obama was not privy to the actual attack footage, and that it was Panetta, in conjunction with military officials, and not Obama, who oversaw and commanded the mission.  A statement by a journalist on Fox News described a battle between members of the Obama administration regarding if and how the Bin Laden mission was to be carried out “and Panetta won.”

Panetta also proceeded to issue a challenge to now thoroughly embattled U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder (keep a close eye on that situation folks)  – admitting on camera that “enhanced interrogation” techniques played a role in obtaining the information necessary that finally located Osama Bin Laden.  As Attorney General, and thus with the direct support of President Barack Obama, members of the CIA and military are facing charges filed against them for involvement in the very enhanced interrogation techniques that CIA Director Leon Panetta is now admitting were of benefit to the operation Barack Obama is now touting as a great victory for America – and his own leadership.

Yeah, take another moment to let that sink in…
Lastly, we have Panetta again seemingly moving in direct opposition to the president, declaring a photo of a dead Osama Bin Laden would be provided.  Obama has adamantly denied a photo would be released, due largely to concerns over offending Muslim sensibilities.  This is the same President Obama who called for the showing of American soldiers returning in coffins, and originally called for the release of pictures of American servicepersons allegedly “torturing” Iraqi and Afghanistan soldiers.

Sigh… I know, I know – you need another moment…
