Theory of Racism

What is the relationship between the struggle against racism and socialist theory and practice in the United States? Why should people of color active in antiracist movements take democratic socialism seriously? And how can American socialists today learn from inadequate attempts by socialists in the past to understand the complexity of racism? In this pamphlet, I try to address these crucial questions facing the democratic socialist movement. First, I examine past Marxist efforts to comprehend what racism is and how it operates in varying contexts. Second, I attempt to develop a new conception of racism which builds upon, yet goes beyond the Marxist tradition. Third, I examine how this new conception sheds light on the roles of racism in the American past and present. Last, I try to show that the struggle against racism is both morally and politically necessary for democratic socialists.

Past Marxist Conceptions of Racism
Most socialist theorizing about racism has occurred within a Marxist framework and has focused on the Afro-American experience. While my analysis concentrates on people of African descent, particularly Afro-Americans, it also has important implications for analyzing the racism that plagues other peoples of color, such as Spanish-speaking Americans (for example, Chicanos and Puerto Ricans), Asians, and Native Americans...............


Chief Special Advisor to Obama – Valerie Jarrett-b.11-14-56-d.

Valerie Bowman Jarrett was born in Iran, to parents Dr Edward T Bowman and Barbara Taylor Bowman. Her parents were on a medical foreign aid mission at the time of her birth. Jarrett like Obama is racially mixed, her father is black and mother is white. Again Jarrett has in common with Obama, a mother who acted on her communist views.

Jarrett speaks Persian, French and English. Jarrett’s parents returned to the US, moving to Chicago. Her father was a professor at the University of Chicago School of Medicine. In 1966 Jarrett’s mother Barbara Bowman, co-founded the Erikson Institute. In 1973 Thomas Ayers would come on board as chairman of the trustees. “Philanthropist Thomas Ayers is the father of Weather Underground founder (est.1969) domestic terrorist/communist/Obama ghostwriter/education indoctrinator Bill Ayers.

To me, it’s astounding Sean Hannity has missed this second generation Chicago communist party connection between Dunham/Obama-Ayers-Jarrett, my sources are googling Wikipedia and The New Zeal blog. Hannity in trying to connect Obama to domestic terrorist Bill Ayers has “overlooked” the obvious family ties. Shutting down his investigation with the Woods and Annenberg Foundations. Curious.

Upon reaching adulthood, Valerie Jarrett would obtain a law degree from the University of Michigan, she was married for 5 years to Dr. William Jarrett, son of Vernon Jarrett. Valerie Jarrett entered the political world, by working for Chicago Mayor Harold Washington in 1987. Later on when Richard M. Daly. was elected mayor, Jarrett stayed on eventually recruiting David Axlerod and Michelle Robinson Obama into the fold.

When Chicago’s political rising star Barrack Obama entered the scene, Jarrett and Axlerod began working for former underling and then new bride, but disbarred attorney, Michelle Robinson Obama.

Jarrett has been described as being as close to Obama as a sister. She has held numerous positions with various institutes, foundations, and organizations not least of all the Federal Reserve Bank branch of Chicago. (see my article about the NWO and Federal Reserve Bank connection) almost one would think of Jarrett as a quasi-Obama. Not immune to greed, Jarrett/Obama's names have been linked to Chicago slumlord properties/activities. It is little wonder one of the positions Jarrett has held, is as a member of the board of directors of the Chicago Housing Authority, the city’s department for poor people’s housing assistance. Wouldn’t you know it Jarrett’s grandfather Robert Taylor, was on the CHA as a director as well, my, my, my, how amazing. Much more could be written about Valerie Jarrett, such as her unabashed endorsement of Jarrett/Obama hand picked self professed communist Van Jones, Obama’s “former” Green Jobs Czar.

Obama Chief Campaign Strategist/ White House Special Advisor -David Axlerod b.-2-22-55—d.

David Axlerod another Chicagoan, is married with 3 children. A graduate of the University of Chicago, and is Jewish, like another Chicagoan, Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. Axlerod’s connections to the communist movement in Chicago come from his mentors in Political Campaign Organizing stars, Don Rose and David S. Canter and also his family upbringing.

From 1966 until 1975 Don Rose and his partner David S Canter co-owned a small newspaper called the Hyde Park Kenwood Voices. The paper's radical tone suited the neighbourhood. It tended to follow the Communist Party line-campaigning for example to abolish the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

The paper sympathetically covered the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) riots at the 1968 Chicago Democratic Party convention and the SDS convention that gave birth to the Weather Underground.(spoiled rich son, radical, Bill Ayers)

It gave a voice to prominent figures of the Hyde Park left. These included several future Obama mentors such Abner Mikva, Leon Despres, Timuel Black and Dr.Quentin Young (Obama's personal physician and SDS supporter ).

Axelrod was born in New York in 1955 to leftish parents Joseph and Myril Axelrod.

In the 1940s Myril Axelrod wrote for a left leaning magazine PM. though not officially a communist publication, several Marxists (including labour editor Leo Huberman) and Communist Party members worked on the paper.

According to the Traditional Values Coalition

Former Communist Eugene Lyons, writing in The Red Decade: The Stalinist Penetration of America, noted that PM’s staff included a former editor of the Daily Worker; another was former editor of The Communist; and a third was a leader of the Communist Youth League; a fourth was a Soviet government official; and a fifth was the former staff cartoonist for the Daily Worker, the official newspaper of the Communist Party, USA.

PM's Washington DC correspondent IF Stone was later identified as involved in Soviet Intelligence operations.

Incidentally one of PM’s writers, Earl Conrad, also wrote for the leftist magazine Negro Story, as did Frank Marshall Davis the Communist Party member who was later to mentor the teen-age Barack Obama in Hawaii.
