A letter from a fellow Patriot...MUST READ...WAKE-UP AMERICA!
This was on the North Houston Tea Party Patriots website. I wanted to share this with you all.
Yesterday, October 10, 2009, I joined 3 friends to attend a town hall meeting where Congressman John Culberson, our representative in Washington, was the featured speaker. I know he is a Constitutional fiscal conservative, so I knew I wouldn’t be too surprised to hear what he had to say. I will say that hearing the words come from his mouth, from a Washington insider’s perspective, elevated my sense of alarm and urgency. He was optimistic about our country surviving this trial, because American’s are awakening to the crisis. But he was adamant that the next 14 months will determine if we survive as a Republic, as our Founder’s intended. He added that we cannot avoid the impending economic downturn in the next year or so, and he admonished everyone to pay off debt and hunker down, noting that a person without debt during a depression is called an observer. As I can attest, reducing debt isn’t always so easy to do immediately; I just hope I have enough time left to take care of my business.
Rep. Culberson made one revelation that was new to me. As he held up his Blackberry, he requested that we all get a Facebook account and sign up as one of his friends. He said this is where you will get the unvarnished truth about what’s happening in our government. Because, at this time, the powers that be, Pelosi, Reid, Obama, can’t control what is said there. It was news to me that newsletters from him and other elected officials have to be approved by the chamber leader (Pelosi, in his case). They edit what is said. If they don’t approve, they withhold the public payment of the postage. As he pointed out, if he had to personally pay the postage, amounting up to $60,000 per mailing, he would be quickly bankrupt. He has been forced to deleted statements, so we get watered down or incomplete news. As he pointed out, with our current technology, we are capable of real-time government participation. But we need to use it while we can. It has great power, and that’s the reason why Obama and his appointees are working overtime to seize control of the internet.
Without any hesitation, he stated that our current administration is composed of Marxists, both elected and appointed. They are currently, quickly “hollowing out” (his words) our system of government. This is not a battle between Democrats and Republicans; this is a battle between the far left (communists) and those who want to return to our Republican form of government, as outlined by our Constitution. Make no mistake, this is a battle to one side’s death. I knew all this, but it had more impact coming from someone on the inside. His hope that we will win this battle is centered in the fact that the American public is waking up and engaging. He said we must not cease pressure on our elected officials. This is the only way that conservatives, especially conservative Democrats, get the courage to standup to the pressure from their leadership. He noted that there is a movement in Congress that includes both conservative Democrats and Republicans, to develop a plan to halt their transformation of our nation, by reducing the size of the Federal government and returning much of the authority to State governments that has been stolen by the Feds. He emphasized that halting the President’s agenda will require a change in the liberal-conservative balance of the Senate and House of Representatives. The 2010 election is not an ordinary election. It will decide our nation’s future. Culberson added “if we still have that much time.” Think about that comment. Not a day goes by that I don’t wish I could go back to only taking care of my business, and regain the feeling that our country was in the hands of elected representatives who wanted to preserve our sovereignty as a Republic. But that is not the current reality. We’ve been dealt a hand. The choice is ours: are we ready to take back our country, or do we just want to bury our heads in the sand and hope no one destroys us while we close our eyes?
Please read the article by Charles Krauthammer, Decline is a Choice, for a better description about the consequences of what we’re choosing to do to ourselves though our current leaders’ efforts. The time of introspective, personal honesty has arrived. On what side do you fall? There is no longer a middle-ground. Work with unstoppable fervor for the side you’re on. As already mentioned, this is a battle to the death. I just hope I’m on the winning side.
