A new poll suggests a seismic upset might be in the making in Delaware's Republican Senate primary on Tuesday.
The survey, released Sunday night by Public Policy Polling, shows tea party favorite Christine O'Donnell leading veteran Rep. Mike Castle 47 percent to 44 percent — a dead heat within the poll's 3.8 percent margin of error.
A PPP analysis of the weekend poll of 668 likely primary voters found that Castle's popularity "has taken a sharp turn in the wrong direction over the last month" — an alarming development for a GOP establishment that is petrified of O'Donnell as the potential nominee.
Last month, 60 percent of Delaware Republicans said they favored Castle. That number has dropped 17 points to 43 percent, according to PPP.

An election for President and Commander in Chief of the Military must strive to be above reproach. Our public institutions must give the public confidence that a presidential candidate has complied with the election process that is prescribed by our Constitution and laws. It is only after a presidential candidate satisfies the rules of such a process that he/she can expect members of the public, regardless of their party affiliations, to give him/her the respect that the Office of President so much deserves.
