Sen. Marco Rubio: “I am not going to be the VP nominee”
Senator Marco Rubio, R-FL., has been coy in the past about the prospect of being the Republican Party’s vice presidential nominee. But today he was far more definitive than he has been stating that he is not going to be the 2012 Republican Vice Presidential nominee.When asked at the Washington Ideas Forum at the Newseum in Washington DC, Rubio repeated twice for emphasis, “I am not going to be the Vice Presidential nominee. I am not going to be the Vice Presidential nominee.”

An election for President and Commander in Chief of the Military must strive to be above reproach. Our public institutions must give the public confidence that a presidential candidate has complied with the election process that is prescribed by our Constitution and laws. It is only after a presidential candidate satisfies the rules of such a process that he/she can expect members of the public, regardless of their party affiliations, to give him/her the respect that the Office of President so much deserves.
He knows we won't let it happen in 2012. At his age he can afford to wait until 2016 or 2020 by which time they expect to have nullified the Constitution.
ReplyDeleteHe might even have attained some "experience" at governing something by then instead of just being the "darling of the people" choice.
Maybe also the electorate will have educated themselves about candidates instead of voting emotionally.
