Palin Flatfooted On O'Reilly Illegal Immigration Question

I really like Sarah Palin, but I don't like her so much that I will overlook an obvious fault and that is she is too political. How disappointing because we need her honest leadership and common sense, but when you are afraid to speak your mind and let the chips fall where they may on an issue, that is a big no no for me.

Really this is the second major letdown Palin has on her sheet.

To Wit: Yesterday Palin was on O'Reilly's show for a segment, and even as suspicious as I am of FOX and O'Reilly's desire to undermine Palin for the benefit of Obama, the question O'Reilly asked was fair, and Sarah choked when she tried to answer it.

O'Reilly set the table with "Okay Gov. Palin, it's 2012 and you're the President, how do you handle the illegal immigration issue?" Palin smiled and trotted out the stock answer " I secure the border" Okay, the fence is built, how many troops do you send? " Uhhh as many as are needed" How many is that? " As many as it takes" (brilliant).

Palin has a lot of time on her hands, if she is thinking about these problems shouldn't she have a more definitive answer. How about 100,000. That ought to shut down the border traffic effectively. It's a big problem, we send 100,000 to Afghanistan to fix that problem, and we can't make the same commitment here?

She was either unprepared or too politically worried to hang it out there over the edge. But it got worse.

O'Reilly continued- Okay the fence is up, the troops are there, however many, now you turn inwardly, what do you do with the 12,000,000 illegals on this side of the border? You're President how do you deal with this? Palin "Uh, Uh, Uh, we need to secure the border first" The border IS secured you've got the fence and troops there , remember, now what do you do with the illegals here? "Well I ... make sure they all get cards so we know who they are" And thennnn? What if some of them don't get cards? " I deport the ones that don't get cards" Okay so the word gets out Palin will deport you if you don't get a card, so they all get cards, how does that help us? " Welllll weeee uhh uhhh we need to protect Americans that don't have jobs from these people who are here illegally."

Palin avoided using the promise of mass deportation like the Republican Plague. Think about this, in a nation that is strong in it's convictions say Iran, would they have a problem with "we've got 12,000,000 infidels inside the borders what will we do?" Hells Bells, those folks would sprint to their trucks without any government direction or qualms about taking matters into their own hands and expelling with force every last one of the offending infidels. While there is plenty to despise about Iran, you've got to respect that level of commitment in their beliefs. Here we sit tweedling our thumbs listening to our weak kneed leaders try not to piss off a voting block, instead of saying what's right.

Palin's problem is she has one foot in the Republican's world and one in the Tea Party's world. However she knows where the power is right now and it's with the Republican machine. When it gets down to it, she'll go with that group.

The Republicans are better by far than the Commucrats, I don't have a problem with that, but I hate the political games politicians play. Joe Barton can't say BP was a victim of an Obama shakedown because it doesn't play well in voter land, that instead of calling a spade a spade, they shut up so they don't look like they are too pro big business. Palin won't say deportation, because that might piss off the Republican party leadership and hurt their perceived chances in November with the Hispanics, like they have a chance with these ONE ISSUE voters to begin with. Why not just have some Republican honesty and the backbone to admit, Blacks vote Democrat Black no matter if it was for Lucifer himself, and not Republican White even if Jesus Christ was running. Hispanics, same thing, they are going to vote on behalf of their hispanic cousins south of the border, that they are trying to get legalized and they know Obama is the man for that.

Perhaps I'm too much a purist and I expect straight talk and conviction from my leaders. In today's America that just doesn't seem possible anymore.

Palin was different or so I hoped, when she seemingly bolted to the Tea Party I thought Sarah may be the one to say ' Where's the Birth Certificate you usurping son of a bitch?" But no, she hemmed and hawed and skirted the issue just like an aspiring presidential candidate that didn't want a divorce from the Republican party.

Palin shouldn't bear all the wrath for this lack of moral courage and over ambition, we've seen them ALL clam up, as they have sold out America. That is what is so bitterly disappointing. We are left with the same old choices of picking between the lesser of two evils, nothing has changed on that front.

  1. I used to affectionately call her "Sarah Sunshine." Sad to say I can no longer do so.
