MIAMI – She's kept tea-partiers in stitches with an act that recalls her six years as a "Saturday Night Live" regular, but Victoria Jackson is serious about her message: It's time to wake up, America, because, as she sings, "There's a Communist in the White House."

Providing some levity last night before a debate about whether the homosexual political organization GOProud is conservative, the ukulele-strumming comedienne told attenders of WND's "Taking America Back" conference she's a "beginner political activist" who was virtually oblivious to politics until 2008.

That was when she found out somebody was running for president who was to the left of Hillary Clinton.

"What would left of Hillary be?" she asked, pausing with her trademark expression of bewilderment. "A communist."

Unfortunately, she said, "the news wasn't telling anyone."

Jackson was a cast member of NBC's "Saturday Night Live" from 1986 until 1992, during the Al Franken era, after she got a break in an appearance on the "Tonight" show with Johnny Carson – reciting poetry while doing a handstand.

Recalling her politically passive upbringing in Miami, Jackson explained that when was 18, her father instructed her simply to vote for the people whose name had an "R" next to it.

After pulling out her ukulele, she launched into her signature song last night, which cites the communist leanings of Obama's parents, his Marxist professors in college and his embrace of the teachings of Saul Alinsky.

Her song also refers to Obama's relationship with former "green jobs czar" and avowed communist Van Jones, 1960s left-wing terrorist William Ayers and former pastor Jeremiah Wright, a teacher of liberation theology, which, Jackson reminded her audience, evoking applause, is "Marxist."

Victoria Jackson uses two news clips from WND as evidence to support her claim "There's a communist living in the White House."

Last night, Jackson recalled that at her first tea party appearance earlier this year, on the Santa Monica pier in Southern California, she wasn't entirely sure what to say. She decided to bring a dictionary and read the definitions of capitalism, socialism and communism.

"That was a pretty good first speech," she said to laughter.

Jackson, who says she became a Christian growing up in South Florida, urged the Miami audience to pray for the nation, citing 2 Chronicles 7:14 from the Bible.

The verse says: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

A nation that obeys God will be blessed, she said, encouraging Americans concerned about their country's current state to become informed, get involved in grass-roots activism and vote.

"My whole life will be like that now," she concluded, "because freedom isn't free."

Few of us get to know celebrities on a personal basis, when you do one finds out pretty quick what they are made of. My father as a combat platoon leader in Europe during WWII became best friends with one, a man assigned to his platoon. I only heard a few stories about this man, but the few expressed a sense of humanity , realism and an obvious love of country. That individual was killed in combat fighting for America in 1945. My father later named his first born son, in his honor.

Victoria Jackson is that type of person, one who hasn't let fame blind her, or cause her to sell her soul to Hollywood. She holds her relation with her creator as sacred, loves her country dearly and remains one of us, one of the people, a patriot.
