No Respect
Ramadan began August 11 and ran through September 10. For Jews the calendar for the High Holy days occur mainly during the western calendar month of September. As a matter of fact the most important day, Yom Kippur takes place today. Other days of observance continue until the end of September.
Why couldn't Obama just as easily selected October as the month to begin the peace talks? Ramadan finishes just as the High Holy days begin. Where's the respect for the religion of the non arabs? Hillary Clinton left Washington on Monday the 13th to be in Egypt the 14th in order to attend the current Israeli-Palestinian peace talks. Where is her respect?
The arabs finished their month long observance of Ramadan, why shouldn't the Israeli's be afforded the same courtesy to observe their High Holy days during the month of September uninterrupted? Clinton as our top diplomat, isn't very diplomatic is she? Obama, well he's a hopeless clueless asshole.

An election for President and Commander in Chief of the Military must strive to be above reproach. Our public institutions must give the public confidence that a presidential candidate has complied with the election process that is prescribed by our Constitution and laws. It is only after a presidential candidate satisfies the rules of such a process that he/she can expect members of the public, regardless of their party affiliations, to give him/her the respect that the Office of President so much deserves.
Steve,
ReplyDeleteI suspect your question is rhetorical. The current administration has perfected the art of insult. I always assume that their actions and words are designed to insult. In the real world, the obvious is not always the answer or the truth. One must always look for the root cause which is usually buried below the surface. With this egregious group you can count on it being deliberate...and insulting.
Incidentally, no attempt to obtain "peace" between Israel and Palestine has ever been sincere. We have a 60 year history to prove it.
Steve, I strongly disagree -- Obama is not clueless.
