LAKIN'S FUTURE...
Having plead guilty to a number of charges at his court-martial this week, I don't know what is in store for LTC Lakin. Personally I think he blew it big time although we just don't know what influenced his decision behind the scenes. There is no doubt he let down a lot of patriots and supporters who rallied to his cause and also contributed financially.
I have to assume that he will be made an example of and will serve some unpleasant time in confinement and be stripped of his rank and lose his pension. Perhaps the penalties will be less severe now than if he had fought the charges and professed his innocence. Who knows? The problem is that by pleading guilty he provided cover for Obama and the military. After all he said he was guilty.
There is no doubt that LTC Lakin took a courageous stand; but capitulating and conceding his guilt in a kangaroo court while it may have served him and his family well in the short run really defeats the whole purpose of his position. We all know that he is right and Obama is a usurper. Why give in now?
I believe that if Lakin had held fast he would have become a lightening rod for our cause and our fight against the Obama regime would be symbolized in Lakin's sacrifice and courage. Since we have no leader...we would at least have a political prisoner and martyr who would serve to inspire and rally our cause.
The fact is that it would only have been a matter of time (two years at the most)and Lakin would be pardoned by a republican president in 2012, his rank and pension reinstated and fully exonerated. He would have been hailed as a national hero. He would be a man for the history books.
Furthermore by standing on principle and withstanding the injustices for a maximum of two years Lakin would come out of prison with book deals, movie deals, paid speech opportunities, nothing less than fame and fortune and hero status.
Now, not so sure.
