Doomsday Veto
Imagine 25 years ago a scenario involving us and some other nuclear armed country having a major difference. In the days of M.A.D.-mutually assured destruction-the last thing any rational body wanted was for the two heads of state going anywhere near the "red" button. Evening implying contemplating such a end of world option, could lead to the other side to strike first. Words were measured ever so carefully, because linguistic experts, psycho-analysists, and fire breathing generals would all be listening in, to detect any signs from mental derangement to personal weakness.threat
No, the red button was no laughing matter. Leaders didn't go around threatening to press it. Because once pressed that would be it, finito.......say good night World.
That was a criteria for electing a president back then, actually it should still be... Is this person mentally fit? Is he sane?
In the preset year and present circumstances we find ourselves saddled with Obama. For weeks now, Obama the Usurper, has threatened the nation with pressing the red economic button. A threat implying he would willingly send the economy over the edge, unless he gets exactly what he wants. Is this not equivalent to a hostage taker demanding his conditions be met or else ?
Obama equates his veto threat, with nuclear armageddon, but it isn't. The right wing in the House needs to stay together, when Reid dumps his Bill on them, it should be equally D.O.A. The House vote on it, should be 192 to 240 against passage.
Boehner needs to be just as insisting as the Left, that it is his way or the highway, and if Obama won't accept the fix and vetoes it, then it will be Obama who creates whatever chaos ensues. This is a case of pay me now or pay me later anyway. If nothing meaningful gets done, then the problem only grows, so whether it is Aug 2
2011, or Aug 2 2012, the day of reckoning isn't going away.
Obama knows if he uses his veto, it's over for him and the democrats. The nation will survive but he won't. So you see, he really doesn't want Boehner to call his bluff, just like he blurted out in their first meeting.
Another point I'd like to make, while on the subject of hollow threats. What was Obama planning on doing with the $200 Billion per month in tax revenues we send in if he was predicting the stoppage of Social Security checks and Military pay ? Did he mean no checks would go out or was he saying only Grannies and Sergeants in Afghanistan were going to be going without so the unions could get theirs ? Somebody role play that one, and see how electable the Usurper would be.
Obama's doomsday veto is hollow and unusable, and he knows it.
