WAKE-UP AMERICA! THIS IS THE PROBLEM...THE POLITICIANS ARE OUT OF CONTROL! WE NEED TO PURGE THE GOVERNMENT AND START FRESH!
Letter to the editor. Santa Barbara News-Press. 9-28-09.
VALUE FOR MONEY?
Earlier this year Congress voted to accept a pay raise under the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA). For the first time in history, Congress will not allow a COLA increase for Social Security recipients. In fact, The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation predicts there may not be any COLA for the next three years. However, the per person monthly Medicare Insurance premium will be increased from the 2009 premium of $96.40 to $104.20 (8%) in 2010 and to $ 120.20 (15.3%) for the year 2011. Another little gem; Congress just increased their office budgets by 8%. That's to pay their office staff, but does not include all those fawning people who sit behind them during those ego trip meetings and committees. Aides for any relevant committees, leadership offices, campaign committees and leadership PACs are compensated through separate budgets.
Lois Capps's annual office staff salary expense for the last three fiscal years was $1.037million and will be a little higher this fiscal year. That does not include her $174,000 salary. For that she has produced an amendment to HR3200 which will mandate that abortions will be funded by the taxpayer - whether we like it or not. I will provide you with a post-it note if you can list any accomplishment which justifies the expense of having her represent us.
