Shot Through The Heart, You Give Love A Bad Name
One of Obama's first acts of property theft he pulled off, was the sweetheart deal he made on behalf of the auto industry Unions. General Motors and Chrysler surrendered the interests of their shareholders, welched on the loans from Bondholders, and flushed the better part of their Dealers down the toilet. These acts cost many, billions. First claim money, and at risk ownership dollars, was stolen with the stroke of a pen. The hue and cry was to not let these vital corporations go under, consider the impact on unemployment we were told. No mention that Ford would take up the slack. The market share GM abandoned would expand Ford's. Suppliers would feel some discomfort, but they would not have gone out of business in droves as hysterically exclaimed by the Regime.
What did the union workers have at risk? Their career? No one said they couldn't ply their trade down the road. What the union did contribute was to play the essential role that brought about the mighty downfall of their employer. Their never ending demands of more money for less work was the hallmark of the rank and file. Cloward and Piven must have been auto workers, during their student salad days. These guys slit the throat of the goose that was laying the golden eggs. Some Career. Thank heavens this type of union exceptionalism is the exception and not the rule. America would be a Socialist/Marxist country long ago if it were the norm.
The Unions made some concessions, they lost some jobs, some plants were closed, big deal. (GM had 175,000 management and union employees. Other companies are shedding jobs adding to the unemployment roles to the tune of 500,000 a month.) For these inevitable concessions, the AFL-CIO still got their members taken care of by Obama. They were indirectly paid by Bail Out funds. Ownership shifted to the Unions and the Federal money given to GM/Chrysler found it way into the Unions' pocket. The lavish but unfunded union pension plan which played a major role in the reorganization, was funded by We The People. Some displaced workers milked the Union unemployment plan, then signed on to the early retirement plan.
Grateful for the union's socialistic block vote, Obama even promised their Cadillac Health Insurance plan would be exempted from his special soak the rich redistribute the wealth taxation plan. Fat Cat Cadillac Health Plans are somehow different, from Union Cronie Cadillac Health Plans. This King like favoritism Obama delusionally believes he possesses would save the unions an estimated $5 billion.
So what's all the hub bub Bub? Apparently someone in the White House is finally getting around to reading what's in the Obama Care Bill. Yesterday the long awaited meeting between Union Bosses and Obama took place and it lasted a very heated 2 hours. That's a lot of Chief Executive time. Obama must have been sweating profusely after tap dancing that long. (next Obama accolade- a guest spot on Dancing With The Stars. He will win of course after only a two week stint).
Obama has 13 State Attorneys General, real AG's, not Whateveryousaybossman AG Eric Holder types, going through the legislation with a fine toothed comb looking for items which are unconstitutional, just in case they somehow fail to convince the courts the unconstitutionality of the whole concept that a universal service must be purchased by all US Citizens.
The Unions apparently are being told, their Cadillac Health Plans are going to be subject to the 40% policy excise/income tax just like everyone else who has such a plan. Someone want to volunteer to remove the knife out of the back of AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka?? I didn't think so, me either.
