Brewer Admits Legislature Has Veto Proof Votes

  1. The worst thing is the Brewer is unable to articulate an acceptable reason as to why she vetoed the bill.

Greta Van Susteren read part of Brewer's letter to the AZ House Speaker (Kirk Adams) where she says "I do not support designating one person as the gatekeeper to the ballot for a candidate which could lead to an arbitrary or politically motivated decision." Brewer said in response "I just have to call 'em as I see 'em and it doesn't help Arizona. This bill is a distraction and we just need to simply get on with the state's business."

That sounds like a bunch of mumbo jumbo to me. It's absolutely senseless. So, what she is saying is that the Secretary of State for Arizona should never keep anyone off the ballot. That would be acting as a gatekeeper. I think some ambitious 20-year old should run for President and see if the "non-gatekeeper" lets him/her on the ballot. Throw in a Mexican citizen while you're at it. I guess now the door is wide open in Arizona and there is no check on candidate qualifications by the SOS.
