As you know Wisconsin has a very important election today. At stake is a Supreme Court justice postion for the state.

The candidates are

Prosser (R) 733074 50% 739354    739886

Kloppenburg ( Commie) 732489 50% 739589    740090   +204   Winner

100% counted 4:00am  12:16   3:50 pm cdt 4/6/11

Oh those absentee ballots.... Trumpka strikes again

TBC-As you can see this race is extremely close, and headed for a recount. The results most likely won't be known for several days or even weeks as contentious as Wisconsin politics have become. My understanding 7000-8000 absentee votes are still to be counted in Madison.

Final update.

The polls closed at 8:00pm cst, I will be updating the vote count for the next several hours. Check back for updates.

The collective bargaining bill, which was overturned by a lower level activist judge will go to appeal and on to the state Supreme Court. Kloppenburg is a hand picked Trumpkaite.

Supreme Court Race is Most Expensive Ever
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- This year's state Supreme Court race is now the most expensive high-court race in Wisconsin history.

A group that tracks spending in judicial races said Tuesday that outside groups combined to spend more than $3.5 million on TV ads in Wisconsin. That tops the previous record of $3.4 million in the state's 2008 race.

The 2011 figure includes all spending through Monday. It's expected to rise further when Tuesday's numbers are included.

The biggest single spender was the liberal Greater Wisconsin Committee, which spent about $1.4 million. Its spending was eclipsed by three conservatives groups that combined to spend almost $2.2 million.

The race is between incumbent Justice David Prosser and Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg. It's drawn national attention as a possible referendum on the state's polarizing union-rights law.
