Hillary Clinton: Obama Confident About Re-election
“And he and I look at each other and say: ‘Oh my gosh. Can you imagine?’” Clinton said. “The president said to me the other day, ‘I’m going to win re-election, and then I’m done.’”After Clinton’s remarks, the White House rushed to assure the media that it’s not taking re-election for granted.
“I can assure you that he is not at all,” Obama’s press secretary John Carney said Tuesday. “He understands very well that we live in a very competitive political environment.”
To be sure, on Thursday Carney had said that the White House is “highly confident that the president will be re-elected.”

An election for President and Commander in Chief of the Military must strive to be above reproach. Our public institutions must give the public confidence that a presidential candidate has complied with the election process that is prescribed by our Constitution and laws. It is only after a presidential candidate satisfies the rules of such a process that he/she can expect members of the public, regardless of their party affiliations, to give him/her the respect that the Office of President so much deserves.
