From Canada Free Press: Checking in on the White House Silver

most anti-American president in history...

Checking in on the White House Silver
By Judi McLeod Monday, August 10, 2009

When the Obamas are holidaying in their $20-million house in Martha’s Vineyard the last week of August, someone who cares should check out how things look inside the White House.

It’s been six months since the most anti-American president in history has taken up residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and time to check how the White House has weathered the change.

Perhaps it’s time to follow through on what was established by Executive Order 11145--”Providing for a Curator of the White House and establishing a Committee for the Preservation of the White House”, circa March 7, 1964.

Community organizer President Barack Obama, aka Barry Soetoro and his social activist wife Michelle have made it clear that they are not happy campers in the White House--”Whereas certain historic rooms and entranceways in the White House possess great human interest and historic significance; traditionally have been open to visitors; have provided pleasure and patriotic inspiration to millions of our people and have come to be regarded as a public museum and the proud possession of all Americans,” not withstanding.

One of Obama’s first public acts as host of the White House was to return a bust of Winston Churchill to the nonplussed Brits. When the British made it clear the bust was a White House gift, Obama made it clear that he did not want it and had it mailed back.

Was the mean-spirited and petty return of the Churchill bust repeated elsewhere among White House possessions? The Obamas are anything but nice people. Both are malcontents and seem to be driven by resentment.

Abroad, Obama, who seems stubbornly unaware of the glorious history of the Land of the Free, has apologized for the United States of America. On home turf, he has allowed members of his administration to portray average Americans as extremists. Strongly reluctant to fight any of America’s enemies, he has asked the White House to punch back twice as hard at opponents of his health care reform.

Other than their at-home Wednesday night cocktail parties, both Barack and Michelle keep their suitcases packed for “dates” and trips.

This president, who would dare rewrite the Constitution, may consider the White House his private domain,

But specific rules and regulations, written when Obama was still in red diapers, protect the White House from personal fiefdom status.

Officials who can check in on the White House include a Committee, composed of the Director o the National park Service, the Curator of the White House, the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, the Chairman of the Commission of Fine Arts, the Director of the National Gallery of Art, the Chief Usher of the White House, and so many other members as the President from time to time may appoint.

The Committee of the Preservation of the White House was continued until Sept. 30, 1989, by Executive Order 12610 of Sept. 30, 1987, 52 FR 39601, 3 CFR. 1987 Comp., pg. 250. Executive Order 12610 also provides that, notwithstanding the provisions of any other Executive Order, the functions of the President under the Federal Advisory Committee Act which are applicable to the Committee, except that of reporting annually to Congress, shall be performed by the Secretary of the Interior in accordance with guidelines and procedure established by the Administrator of General Services.”

During their six-month cultish love-in of Obama and Co., none of the mainstream media has picked up any of the could-be interesting changes in the White House since the Obamas move in.

Like those who scurry around to re-hang ugly pictures when their mother-in-law leaks word she is descending upon them for an unscheduled whistlestop, are artifacts this First Family don’t want on everyday view being kept in a safe hiding place?

Are portraits of America’s founding fathers now facing the wall?

Have portraits of The Messiah replaced Washington’s and Lincoln’s?

It’s high time to reassure Americans that the White House is intact.
