Congress doesn't give a damn about the people! They are plotting to ram their socialist healthcare bill down our throats this month! They are going to do everything in their power to circumvent the rules. They are drunk with power and feel that they can do whatever they want with out repercussions.
You must write and call your so-called "representatives" in Congress NOW! It would also be useful (hopefully) if you would target the following Senators:
Senator Voinovich, 202-224-3353;
Senator Brown, 202-224-2315;
Senator. Baucus (Chair): 202-224-2651;
Finance Committee: 202-224-4515;
Olympia Snowe, 202-224-5344 and
Blanche Lincoln, 202-224-4843.
Tell them:
1. NO to a public option
2. NO individual mandates
3. NO to using reconciliation to avoid a filibuster in the Senate
4. NO to using bill substitution or amending to avoid voting something out of committee
5. NO to passing anything without giving Congress and the general public time to digest the bill.
The Senate is attempting to get the Healthcare Bill over to the House for a vote, while keeping the public option in a bill and skipping a straight up vote. All procedural tactics intended to force a bill through congress to the President's desk ASAP.
Senators Snowe-R (Me) and Lincoln-D (AR) have been identified as having a very special influence on this process and are also vulnerable because of loyalties or re-election. Snowe is key because she would provide some measure of bipartisan cover to moderate Democrats, and Blanche Lincoln is key on the Democrat side because she is considered vulnerable in the 2010 elections and a yes vote from her would give cover to other moderate Democrats such as Ben Nelson, and Mary Landrieu.

An election for President and Commander in Chief of the Military must strive to be above reproach. Our public institutions must give the public confidence that a presidential candidate has complied with the election process that is prescribed by our Constitution and laws. It is only after a presidential candidate satisfies the rules of such a process that he/she can expect members of the public, regardless of their party affiliations, to give him/her the respect that the Office of President so much deserves.
