Obama and his partners in crime are hell-bent on destroying America...

We are on an unsustainable trajectory, a death spiral that is killing this nation.

Barack Obama’s Job “Removal” Rating

By Jayme Evans Monday, December 14, 2009

“We undertook a series of difficult steps… And we were forced to take those steps largely without the help of an opposition party which, unfortunately, after having presided over the decision-making that had led to the crisis decided to hand it over to others to solve.” - Barack Obama

Barack Obama’s revisionist historical perspective never ceases to amaze me. I recall he campaigned for the job. Unfortunately for the entire world, the campaign never ended and still continues to this day.

Every time Obama speaks, his media lapdogs faithfully focus on the slight upticks in his daily/weekly job approval ratings. But, Americans are a gullible lot, and those numbers change as often as Obama refers to himself in his speeches. What is of paramount concern to me is something that the media won’t readily quantify; Barack Obama’s job “removal” rating.

Since President Bush’s acknowledgement of this crisis, the US has lost nearly seven million jobs and counting; four million of which evaporated under Barack Obama’s steady leadership. In response to growing American economic stagnation, he recently held a jobs “summit”. Any time a president is holding a “summit” on a domestic issue, rest assured he has absolutely no clue on that issue. American jobs are disappearing for two reasons: Unsustainable debt and growing uncertainty over the trajectory that debt has taken.

We spent half a trillion in TARP funds to prop up the very institutions whose greed caused our problems. The TARP legislation directed that any unused funds would be returned to the treasury and used to pay down the deficit. Now, Mr. Obama wants to use the unspent money, which never existed and had to be borrowed from the Chinese, for other cockamamie ideas, like cash for “caulkers”. Obama’s brain trust may think that’s a great idea to generate jobs, but it’s unequivocally illegal, as the TARP legislation specifically applies only to “financial institutions”. Or, did he not read that one, either?

We spent billions more on bailouts for failed automakers who are suffocating under the weight of union pension and retiree benefits. This bailout was not to save the automakers from insolvency, but to protect union pension funds and jobs.

We spent nearly a trillion more on a stinkulus program that was nothing more than a 30-year old laundry list of pet projects that could never secure funding. A program that protected union labor in the public works, education and automobile industries and the jobs of local, state and federal government workers, while it did nothing to protect private sector jobs that continue to evaporate.

While he continues to downplay the unemployment numbers, ignoring the number of total unemployed, which is actually over 17%, Barack Obama gives moving speeches about how he wants to foster small business growth and feed hungry families. Yet he, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and every Independent, Democrat or Republican who gorges themselves on the sloppy seconds of his spending orgy are now on the verge of accumulating so much debt that it can never be repaid, reducing our credit worthiness to junk status in the process.

The US budget deficit has been overshadowed by a far more ominous number. Our national debt has now exploded above $12 trillion dollars. They’ve maxed out the credit cards. Despite this, the profligate purse-snatchers in Washington are now proposing to raise the debt ceiling yet again so they can seize and spend even more of your money. Their reasoning: It was already raised multiple times under Bush. Worse yet, they’re attaching the debt ceiling measure to a pending Pentagon funding bill, putting Republicans in the uncomfortable position of raising the ceiling or supporting the Pentagon.

Obama’s Special Paymaster Kenneth Feinberg recently instituted private sector salary caps on companies that took bailout funds, a move which I don’t particularly object to. Taxpayer money should come with strings. But, accompanying the pay caps is a related piece of House legislation, passed last week to a virtual news blackout, which gives the federal government the power to break up companies it determines, in its infinite wisdom, are a “threat to the economy”, a term subject to interpretation and abuse by yet another bureaucrat.

In a Sunday session that’s becoming all too common, the Senate passed a new, 1,000-page, pork-laden, $1.1 trillion omnibus spending bill larded up with over 5,000 earmarks totaling nearly $4 billion dollars. Besides wasting billions in unnecessary pork, this legislation further raises the salaries of federal employees and increases the size of the federal government by over 10 percent, while the rest of the private sector is either contracting or stagnant. In a related bit of irony, USA Today reported that federal government salaries have virtually exploded. In response, so has Glenn Beck’s head.

Also last week, in response to the Supreme Court’s 2006 finding that Carbon Dioxide can be regulated by the Clean Air Act, Obama’s EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson released an Administrative ruling that CO2, along with several other “greenhouse” gases is hazardous to human health.

This, despite its use, synthesis, consumption, metabolism, absorption or respiration by every organic life form on Earth. Jackson said that if the private sector didn’t act now, the federal government would be forced to, through “command-and-control”. This, in addition to the ongoing efforts to redefine as many bodies of water as possible as “navigable” so that they can be “protected” by the Clean Water Act.

The entire US government has lost its marbles. Not content with what they’ve already done or what I’ve laid out in addition to that, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and many other Democrats—and even some treacherous Republicans—have either said or signaled that they have plenty of appetite for spending lots more of your money.

Even as Obama talks the talk on the effects of his policies, job creation, small business investment and capital gains tax relief, his signature health care and energy legislation will push small business tax rates into the stratosphere. He smugly referred to 11,000 jobs lost in November as “just a trickle”, despite the fact that they are still losses thousands strong and that those numbers are heavily skewed due to temporary, seasonal labor that will be gone in January. He claims we’re out of recession and that the economy is expanding, but nearly all growth over the last year has been to the federal government alone.

In response to increasing American frustration and concern over his plan to spend his way back to prosperity, even as he lectures America on fiscal responsibility, Barack Obama said “The forces of the status quo are marshaling their resources.” He also said that choosing between deficit reduction and his “investments” is a “false choice”, an overt admission that he has no desire to stop spending money which no longer even exists.

The federal government is fast becoming the only game in town. It has now morphed from regulating the private sector to completely crowding it out. Barack Obama seems hell-bent on the creation of so-called “green” jobs, while ignoring job creation everywhere else. He is actively transforming and restructuring our economy in the midst of a recession. The harder he allegedly “tries”, the more urgent our economic woes get. As the debt piles up, the more frightened Americans become. We are on an unsustainable trajectory, a death spiral that is killing this nation.

But, that’s precisely what Democrats intended all along.
