The two men Capitol Police arrested for disrupting Congress on Sunday belong to an offshoot of Glenn Beck’s “912 Project.”

Capitol Police arrested two Massachusetts men, William Gunn, 49, and David Sanders, 61, on Sunday afternoon after they allegedly shouted, “Kill the bill!” from the public gallery above the House floor proceedings.

The two men are affiliated with the “Western Mass 912 Project” – an offshoot of Fox News commentator Glenn Beck’s group, “The 912 Project.”

Beck’s group says it “is designed to bring us all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001… united as Americans, standing together to protect the greatest nation ever created.”

Fox News said that Beck is not personally involved with many of the local chapters of “The 912 Project” and that he does not condone violent protests.

“Glenn helped launch the grassroots 912 movement but doesn’t have any involvement in the individual groups beyond occasionally recognizing their work,” said Joel Cheatwood, senior vice president of development for Fox News. “He routinely calls for Americans to be involved in a peaceful manner.”

Police charged Gunn and Sanders with disrupting Congress and escorted them from the House chamber. They were arrested, processed and later released after paying a fine.

On a chat forum affiliated with “the Western Mass 912 project,” group members congratulated Gunn and Sanders for their arrests, with one member saying, “I would be honored to be arrested today in D.C. for disorderly conduct on this particular day...God bless them for standing...”
