Should California Be Allowed To Legalize Marijuana
States Rights versus the National welfare. No I'm not about to argue for Obama Care.
California in what is being rationalized as a means to raise much needed tax revenue has advanced the proposal from "medicinal marijuana" use, to outright legalization for one ounce or less. How much is that? Picture a full size sandwich baggie fairly tightly packed with dried lawn clippings. A not less than substantial amount. As a former cigarette smoker, that's a lot of wacky tabacy. If this Caly state law is passed, the San Fernando valley will become known for more than their avocados. A totally rad cash crop dude. Like, consider the mega possibles. Major brownie urges at the cafeteria.
Does it matter to the rest of the States, what one states does? Nevada has legalized prostitution,Rhode Island has a loose law on this loose profession, however 48 others states have laws against.
Getting back to the Crass Grass issue. If you lived in Arizona, would you feel threatened by increased marijuana traffic coming not from Mexico, but from next door California? Who's to say those one ounce baggies don't get pooled into bales, and an interstate cottage industry springs up.
I would say there is a very good likelihood of California rights infringing upon the rest of the states. I just don't see MS-13 or the boy next door obeying the keep it mellow and in the state, spirit of this law. Easy money is easy money.
Should the states at the headwaters of the Mississippi be allowed to dump harmful chemicals at will, irregardless as to how Louisiana feels about it?
I'm thinking California needs to reconsider. Perhaps they can make some really nice baskets instead.
