I Don't Care For Bankers Either

A while back I took out a commercial loan. I was sitting on the other side of the desk of my bank loan officer, reading over the terms and fine print before signing the loan agreement. My banker cracked, "If you see anything in your favor, strike it out." That's about right. Bankers are nice people generally, they are just so one sided in their business practices. That's why I say I don't like bankers.

Does my personal opinion give me the right to stand on their front doorstep with a bullhorn and shout out my grievances against them. Absolutely not. My choice is to not borrow money from them, not heckle them, their family and disturb their neighbors.

SEIU feels differently. Some 700 protesters showed up at a Bank of America executive, and did just that last week. This happened in Maryland just outside of Washington D.C. The protesters originated in D.C. where allegedly the DC police alerted the Montgomery County, Maryland police. Trouble is it took the local police an hour to respond to the home owner's call for help. When the police finally did show up, the protesters were asked to vacate, or be charged with trespass. They did, they got on their 17 buses and headed for the home of a JP Morgan executive. No arrests were made, as these protesters dispersed when ordered. What didn't happen, was no citations for a not having a parade permit, no tickets for destruction of private property (for civil lawsuit purposes),no disturbing the peace. zilch. This is the other side of this rotten pancake. The police have been bought. Wrong turns gettng on scene, strolling to arrive, no green stamps handed out, they saw nothing that qualified as wrong doing by the protesters. Have a nice day, citizen.

I don't know. What do you think should have been the homeowners reaction? Did the person do the right thing, calling the cops and hoping they would arrive in time before he mob got out further out of control? A case can be made that the damage to the lawn can be repaired, the hurt pride soothed, but what if they come back a few days from now, or in the middle of the night, or tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow.

I might stock up on pepper spray, tear gas and 00 buckshot. But that's just me, I'm half crazy.

What kind of country do we have now?

Steve
