Rubio called his consideration for the GOP presidential ticket a tribute to his parents, who worked as a maid and a bartender, and lived — as the senator put it — under “very different circumstances” just a short time ago.
“I think that’s a tribute to them. No doubt about it,” he told Fox News’ Bret Baier. “But I think it’s an even greater tribute to America, because it’s one of the few societies in all human history where a story like that would even be possible.”
The freshmen senator is one of at least a half dozen candidates Romney is reportedly considering for the second spot on the GOP presidential ticket. Among the others: Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, and House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan.
But so far, Rubio appears to be creating the most “buzz,” according to Baier, among Republicans looking to pull off an upset against President Barack Obama in November.
However, Rubio has suggested that if Republicans are looking to him to deliver the Hispanic vote this fall, they don’t understand that Hispanics don’t vote as a bloc.
“There is something that unites the Hispanic community, however, and that’s this burning desire for economic empowerment,” Rubio says. “They desperately want to give their kids every chance and every opportunity that they didn’t have. So the question is: Which one of these two gentlemen that are running has the best idea for them? I think it’s going to be Mitt Romney at the end of the day.”

ReplyDeleteHe makes a generalization as if it were "fact" by referring to Baier as an "authority". But, from MY detailed study of all the "power plays" going on; the REPUBLICAN PARTY is AGAIN putting up a "false front" as an "Opposition Party". Already, Romney has -- on several occasions said that akaObama is "a good man"! A GOOG MAN does not set out to deliberately destroy his Country and betray those who put their faith in him!
Remember back in "08 when, just before the elections, RINO McCain said that: "...he, (Obama), would make a good president.!" Where's the difference? They ALL are puppets of the Bilderberg Group who works through the CFR. ANYone with CFR membership is anti-American sovereignty!
There is ONLY ONE Choice ,,, and, likely our LAST CHANCE to save our Republic and that is to vote for Congressman Ron Paul. The "establishment" Republicans REFUSE TO HONOR THIER OATH OF OFFICE AND DEFEND OUR CONSTITUTION! A vote for Romney IS a vote for socialism and more tyranny of government. LOOK at HIS voting record!!!
Well, if he doesn't recuse himself, so to speak, or fail to pass the vetting process, we will have another usurper and the republican party to thank for it this time around. Our country is becoming a joke and soon they wiil throw the switch on the internet to prove it.
ReplyDelete"They are all traitors!" Tragically, political expediency and self-interest trump their oath of office. Beyond sickening.
