Managing Expectations About
The Cold Case Posse Investigation
By Lawrence Sellin, Ph.D.

I was, like many, disappointed in the interview with Mike Zullo of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Cold Case Posse (CCP) conducted by Carl Gallups on his May 23, 2014 Freedom Friday program.

Based on the announcement preceding the program, I had expected significant new information to be released. There was nothing new, only a confirmation that they are “honing in on” the alleged forgers of the birth certificate and that the new evidence may not be released for months.

Given what I have heard and read up until now, I had assumed that their “universe shattering” evidence was a potential game-changer.

Obama, with the help of the media, has survived Fast & Furious, IRS, Benghazi and he will probably wait out the VA scandal. The CCP evidence, therefore, will need to be of such a magnitude to be capable of bringing down Obama on its own. That is a significant amount of inertia to overcome.

It may also not be a game-changer because the impact is not just based on the quality of the evidence, but the manner in which the case is presented (ask any lawyer), the timing of its release and the environment into which it is immersed.

The evidence will have little impact unless it has “legs” beyond the Freedom Friday program. That is a major challenge because the politicians and the media, even conservatives, are vehemently opposed to accepting, never mind presenting the birther argument. As Sheriff Joe indicated in his interview with Fox News’ Neil Cavuto, no one seems to be interested.

In the face of a growing number and intensity of the Obama scandals, the next few months offer an ideal moment to release information about Obama’s personal history that may tip the scales toward resignation or possible impeachment in 2015. On the other hand, after the November 2014 elections, Obama will be considered a lame duck and there will be a clear tendency by politicians and the media to run out the clock. The time is soon approaching when the evidence being held by the Cold Case Posse could simply be overtaken by events.

Brace yourselves; political expediency, careers and personal financial interest always trump the truth.
