The National Hockey League (NHL) has
announced a partnership with the Natural Resources Defense Council
(NRDC) to promote climate hysteria.
The NHL “says it's confronting climate change to help ensure ice
hockey’s long-term survival. 'We need winter weather,' NHL commissioner,
Gary Bettman, said in a statement Monday. 'We have a vested interest in
this cause.'”
Just for curiosity, I decided to look at trends in average winter
temperatures for the 21 metropolitan areas in which the NHL has American
teams.
Just two increasing trends and one decreasing trend in average winter
temperatures over the past three decades – all in markets without a
proper winter climate for outdoor hockey anyway, along with 18 sites
(including all the markets that actually have a winter where outdoor
hockey can be played) that have no trends.
In short, none of the NHL's markets where outdoor hockey can be played
has seen a warming trend in average...(Read Full Post)
