Most morally bankrupt and institutionally corrupt Congress in the nation's history polluted by threats, bribes, lies, budget gimmickry

The 111th Congressional Majority’s Self-Executing Rule

By Jayme Evans Tuesday, March 23, 2010

Back on January 3rd, I predicted that ObamaCare would pass and thanks to the political cover provided by the waffling of my so-called “representatives"and other self-styled pro-life representatives who put politics over principle, Democrats have had their way.

Whether we’re talking about health care, bank bailouts or stealth wealth distribution masquerading as “stimuli”, when two branches of the US government can conspire in such a manner against the stated will of the majority of its citizens in order to benefit a small minority, we’ve devolved from a representative, Constitutional republic to a despotic, banana republic.

After one of the most dysfunctional legislative processes by the most morally bankrupt and institutionally corrupt Congress in the nation’s history polluted by threats, bribes, lies, budget gimmickry, un-Constitutional and quite possibly illegal activity, Democrats have what they believe to be the crown jewel of the Progressive movement; the birth of a government-administered, single-payer health care system.

Let them gloat, for this fight is far from over. Neither the rule of law, nor the will of the people were upheld throughout this entire process. Democrats have overplayed their hand once again, leaving themselves vulnerable to the ire of an angry electorate and their government takeover of health care vulnerable to a multitude of legal and constitutional challenges. The political chicanery that permeated this so-called “debate” is of such magnitude, 40 states have either already filed, prepared or intend to file lawsuits questioning the legality of this expansion of federal power. That’s 80% of the entire country.

If you’re looking for a way to oppose ObamaCare as an average citizen, then look no further than the individual mandate. This unlawful form of servitude must never be applied to a single American. The day it is forced upon us is the day America dies. It must be challenged, not just by the states’ attorneys general, but by every single individual who would be illegally bound by it. I don’t care what prostituted version of constitutional law Barack Obama was indoctrinated with, our Founders never intended for us to be subject to an exercise of federal power of this magnitude and they would scoff at the notion we would be required by the federal government to purchase anything. They would admonish us to rise up and reject the very idea as the incoherent ranting of drunken fools.

The Commerce Clause does not permit, and indeed the 10th Amendment, reserving power to the states and the People, forbids the federal government from forcing an American citizen to purchase anything, health care notwithstanding. Comparisons to driver’s licenses are nonsense. Driving is a privilege and no one is forced to drive. Motor vehicle insurance is required only if you drive, lest you kill someone, not as a condition of legal citizenship. By choosing not to purchase health insurance, you are choosing not to engage in commerce. Unless the government can now force you to weatherize your home, buy a Chrysler, a new refrigerator, or anything else, Barack Obama is once again snorting cocaine.

ObamaCare can still be challenged, but it will move forward as fast as they can push it until it faces the Supreme Court. Small business owners, senior citizens, disabled veterans and others that I know are fearful for what it means for them. All I can tell them is that it means exponentially higher debt, longer waits, higher costs, fewer doctors, less choice, less access to technological advances - even to the rich, federally-funded abortions and too many other detrimental consequences to enumerate here. Americans now understand the bribes, kickbacks, job offers, chest-thumping threats by naked underlings in locker rooms and parliamentary tricks such as the Slaughter Solution a.k.a. “Deem and pass” and reconciliation used by the majority to exert pressure against the unwilling. And they hate them all.

The last time any group of people were so convinced that the destructive path they were on was the right one was when the Heaven’s Gate cult committed mass-suicide before hitching a ride on Comet Hale-Bopp. Deemocrats have indeed committed collective, political suicide and will be thrown out en masse, come November. Unfortunately for Americans, this means they probably have even fewer reservations about using these same guerrilla tactics to pass amnesty, pass cap and trade, silence talk radio or otherwise drive another nail in the coffin of this nation and its battered Constitution. Although the Slaughter Solution was never invoked as threatened, the health care vote marks the beginning of the end of the 111th congressional majority’s self-executing rule. They’ve not only poisoned the well, they’ve drawn what’s sure to turn out to be a warm, November bloodbath.

C’mon in, the water’s fine.
