A Patriot's Poem

This was written after the 9/12/09 March........

912 MARCH ON WASHINGTON DC

By Dianne C.

New Orleans, LA

You said you wanted to see me, wanted to call us out
So I drove all night to see what THAT was all about
But when I arrived at your home, on your front lawn
Imagine my surprise when i learned that you were gone!

You said bring your ideas to my open door
So we came with hundreds of thousands, maybe more!
We found your guards, policemen and pages
We brought our voices, signs and stages

In the SOUTH it is serious when a man calls you out
You bring your seconds, your pistols, you have no fear or doubt
Meet at City park 'neath the Spanish moss
The coward will die, the righteous is boss

It's a gentleman's agreement, with the slap of a glove
More often than not it's all about LOVE
And that's what we've got, mr. president Sir
This is OUR country and we WILL defend her.

We're gonna keep coming and growing in number
We will not waiver, we will not slumber
Next time we meet 'neath the Dueling Oaks
It will not be good for he who chokes.

We know what you're up to and we WILL NOT stand
You will not take our country under your command
You work for US, not the other way around
We have at last our voices found!

Thanks Dianne, for that wonder poem, and thank you for being a reader.

Steve
