JUST THE TICKET?...[Note: Obama won't be running]...
Last night, we ran into a friend who’s very active in Democrat politics here in Illinois…and we started talking about Democrats’ reliance on the black vote…and how black voters are, bar none, the absolute most racist in the country.
Black voters supported Obama at a 90%+ margin in 2008. No other voting bloc in history has ever broken along those tight racial lines before. Black people look at a candidate’s skin before they look at anything the candidate has ever said or done. It’s shameful, but it’s true.
That’s what makes Allen West such an interesting VP pick for 2012.
We think, and our friend agrees, he could very well cost Democrats a nice percentage of the black vote…because with a black VP, a lot of blacks will say “we win either way” and sit home on election day, if not vote for West himself.
Especially if West continues doing what he’s always done: calling the black community out for supporting the likes of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Henry Gates, and other race hustlers. West does this in the way Bill Cosby does, delivering tough love where it’s needed, and repeatedly scolding the black community for living as pets of the Democrat party, never taking responsibility for their own communities and moving forward to become entrepreneurs, hard workers, and business owners in their own right.
What would happen to Obama’s electoral fortunes if he scores only 85% of the black vote, instead of 90%?
What happens if having Allen West on the Republican ticket as Governor Palin’s VP also causes white liberals to sit home, too, giving Obama 5% less of these people as well?
The historic and unprecedented “first black VP” combined with the historic and unprecedented “first female President” could do a world of damage to Obama’s re-election bid.
Before we get too far into thinking about this, we’d like to know how Allen West would do in the VP vetting process.
Is there anything from his past that could hurt him?
We admit to not knowing a great deal about the man, but we love everything we have seen so far. If he’s allowed to be himself — and we can’t imagine Governor Palin preventing this — West could really hit Democrats hard and shake a great many people’s beliefs down to their foundations.
He’s probably the Democrats’ nightmare VP candidate because he could do so very much damage to the DNC’s voting-bloc makeup, just by being himself, and telling it like it is.
