Plouffe: Zero chance for Trump in 2012
“I saw Donald Trump kind of rising in the polls. Given his behavior, and the spectacle of the last couple of weeks, I hope he keeps on rising,” Plouffe said on ABC’s “This Week.” “There’s zero chance that Donald Trump would ever be hired by the American people to do this job.”
Plouffe said that he does not think that Trump, or the issue of Obama’s birth would impact the 2012 presidential election because the American people are focused on issues like the economy and national security.
“There may be a small part of the country that believes these things, but mainstream Americans think it’s a side show,” Plouffe said. “That’s not leadership, that’s a kind of a sideshow behavior.”

An election for President and Commander in Chief of the Military must strive to be above reproach. Our public institutions must give the public confidence that a presidential candidate has complied with the election process that is prescribed by our Constitution and laws. It is only after a presidential candidate satisfies the rules of such a process that he/she can expect members of the public, regardless of their party affiliations, to give him/her the respect that the Office of President so much deserves.
