Let Us Be Clear On The 2nd Amendment

The Right to Bear Arms is a right to self defense against all enemies both foreign and domestic.

The 2nd Amendment is an intended protection of the citizenry against tyrannical government at the minimum.

As the country was first settled and evolved most people developed the sense guns when not used an an implement to feed themselves, were for self defense against Indians, Criminals or Foreign Invaders. After the War of 1812 when the British invaded the Washington D.C. area and New Orleans, and with the end of the Indian Wars by the 1870's the lone remaining perceived need to own firearms for self defense then became the desire to avoid victimization by the criminal element in our society. The citizenry of yesterday felt secure in their personal freedom and mostly unthreatened by the Federal Government, for a long period past July 4, 1776.

Now comes a new day. The post November 4, 2008 era. Now we must reflect back upon the original reasoning for bearing arms, when the Founders warned, an armed citizenry were the principle protection against a government of tyrants.

We have the criminals still, and yet again face a real threat of invasion up to and including potentially nuclear armed Islam-o-fascists who would enter our land by any means possible, including walking across our unsecured borders, to harm us.

Make no mistake any government that wants to disarm it's people is a tyranny waiting to happen. As of this date the Regime Obama is an incompetent tyranny but a tyrannical threat none the less, and when one considers Al Qaeda, Drug Cartels, Gangs, and the run of the mill murdering thug, I think I'll cling to my guns a bit longer, thank you, as should every intelligent and loyal American.

When Jesus Christ returns He can have my guns then. To make it crystal clear I'll paraphrase the late Senator Lloyd Benson, "I know Jesus Christ and you Barrack Obama are no Jesus Christ."
