Ex-Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has outraged some of her fans with an endorsement of former Hewlett-Packard executive Carly Fiorina in the GOP's U.S. Senate primary in California.
The former vice presidential candidate made the endorsement on her Facebook page, saying Fiorina's experience running a major corporation is sorely lacking in Washington.
In endorsing Fiorina, Palin snubbed third party candidate Chuck DeVore, a favorite of the tea party movement.
More than 7,300 Palin fans clicked the "Like" button on the Facebook endorsement. But most of the 1,700 comments from Palin's 1.5 million-plus Facebook supporters _ many among the tea party faithful _ pleaded in Facebook comments for Palin to change her endorsement.
A spokesman for Palin did not have immediate comment Friday.

An election for President and Commander in Chief of the Military must strive to be above reproach. Our public institutions must give the public confidence that a presidential candidate has complied with the election process that is prescribed by our Constitution and laws. It is only after a presidential candidate satisfies the rules of such a process that he/she can expect members of the public, regardless of their party affiliations, to give him/her the respect that the Office of President so much deserves.
