Darrell Issa Wants to “Make the President A Success”?
November 4th, 2010We were disappointed when incoming Government Reform and Oversight Committee chairman Darrell Issa seemed to sidle up to Barack Obama by saying there was “not a chance” he would consider investigations that might lead to impeachment, at least “at this point.” Issa channeled Chris Matthews in his most recent pronouncement to reassure his implacable political foes.
On election night, just as House Minority Leader John Boehner finished his tearful victory speech, Issa told reporters on a conference call, “I want to prove the pundits wrong.” As he saw it, he said, “My job is not to bring down the president. My job is to make the president a success.”
No, that is not the job of a watchdog chairman. That is Chris Matthews’ job. Those less slavishly devoted to Obama than the talking head with the tingling leg are more interested in serving their defined roles, uncovering corruption, and making the United States a success.

Darrell Issa Wants to “Make the President A Success”?
ReplyDeleteIt's apparent that D. Issa is cut from the SAME CLOTH as John McCain. Does anyone remember -- about the time of the debates between McCain and Obama, when McCain said, " ... I think he (Obama) would make a good President"? Obviously thet are ALL cut from the same cloth -- Republicrats or Demopublicans -- whichever you prefer. Either party will destroy our sovereignty and favor the estaablishment of a North American Union and open borders and submission to the U.N. and, soon, Sharia Law.
This is a perfect example that the "professional" politicians are always liars. He really worked hard before the elections to convince us that he was going to be tough on Obama and the administration when he assumed chairmanship of the GR and O Committee. He intimated impeachment for Obama and damnation for the other guilty people. Now starts the backpedaling - just as we predicted. In a way it's a good thing because it will make us more determined than ever to change the way government operates. The Republicans believe we'll have to keep them in power in 2012 because the alternative is not thinkable - and they are going to regret it. We will change the way government operates. There will be a third party and it will overcome the other two parties. If the Republicans continue on the "government as usual" path they will garner almost no votes in 2012. It will be the end of "progressive Republicans."
