Jindal and the 2012 Question

I too listened to Bobby Jindal on Hannity today. I'm going to be a little more magnanimous than the article below.

Sean Hannity does have his moments of dimwittedness, and asking Bobby Jindal if he was going to throw his hat into the ring for a 2012 White House bid was another example.

Bobby Jindal categorically stated he would NOT be a candidate for the White House. Period, end of story. I have no need for Jindal to shout from the rooftop he isn't a Natural Born Citizen. He obviously has his motives for not making a big deal about that issue.

Jindal wants to run for re-election as Governor of Louisiana in 2011, the last thing he needs is to confuse the electorate about his citizenship status. While the Presidency is the only office which requires NBC status, if Jindal had told Hannity " No I'm not running for the White House because I'm not a Natural Born Citizen" how easy would that be to get misconstrued back in the bayous that Jindal is some kinda illegal alien, cuz he ain't a Natural Citizen. How many votes would that cost him?

Jindal's answer to Hannity, was perfect, he didn't confuse the electorate he will be campaigning in front of, and he stated he would not be running for the White House. Politics is a tightrope act, and Jindal walked that line perfectly today.
