Obsessed Leftist Echo Chamber Outs Self: Ben Smith/Politico Retweets Think Progress Retweet of CNN ‘Investigation’ of Obama’s Birth Certificate
Imagine my surprise to find CNN furiously tweeting about the mythic Barack Obama birth certificate and the Soros-funded Center for American Progress mouth piece, Think Progress, furiously hot on the heels retweeting CNN’s tweets.
If that’s not enough, within a flash, Ben Smith of The Politico retweets the Think Progress retweet of the CNN tweet. You can’t make this stuff up.
Beginning around 11 pm ET, in order we have:
. cnnbrk CNN Breaking News
CNN investigation: Obama #birther claims have no merit http://on.cnn.com/g2nkW8
. thinkprogress ThinkProgress
BREAKING! RT @cnnbrk: CNN investigation: Obama #birther claims have no merit http://on.cnn.com/g2nkW8
. benpolitico Ben Smith
RT @thinkprogress: BREAKING! RT @cnnbrk: CNN investigation: Obama #birther claims have no merit http://on.cnn.com/g2nkW8
So, what’s so hot about the CNN story?
Not much, really, other than Gary Tuchman reports: “Obama passes CNN birther investigation.”
Although I could add pages in response to this, I won’t.
Tuchman’s “in-depth investigation” concludes there’s no “merit” to the various claims about the Obama birth certificate.
Read the CNN story if you must, but there’s nothing new here worthy of BREAKING! news status.
CNN’s “story highlights” (video at end of post) include (as stated):
. A former Hawaii health officials tells CNN she has “no doubt” Obama was born in Honolulu
. Obama in 2008 produced a “certificate of live birth,” which is legally accepted
. Various Obama family acquaintances remember the president’s birth in 1961
. Some critics of the president continue to express doubts about his country of birth
What has set off all this sudden interest in investigating the birth certificate? Most likely two things. One, Jerome Corsi’s latest book “Where’s the Birth Certificate?” is due out soon. Two, and most significantly, Donald Trump is telling it like it is.
Matt Patterson writes today at Pajamas Media:
Is anyone else enjoying the Donald Trump show as much as I am? I’m not talking about NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice (which in any case is less entertaining since Gary Busey got whacked). I’m talking about the show where His Donald-ness drops by every conceivable televised news outlet and says things that you are absolutely not supposed to say, leaving his liberal interlocutors in fits of sputtering rage and apoplexia. . . .Of course, it goes without saying, Trump and any other pro-American presidential candidate should be asking the hard questions the Marxstream Media goes out of its way to avoid.
Obama has not produced his original, long-form birth certificate. Talk about an inconvenient truth! Though this is an absolute fact, liberal journalists find it astonishing that anyone would find it suspicious. Indeed the media is more interested in portraying anyone interested in this issue as crazy (not to mention racist), than in actually investigating the issue itself.
This last is especially troublesome for the media: On the one hand, they are eager to book Trump, a colorful character who brings ratings and attention, but in doing so give him a platform for the “outrageous” views they find offensive.
Kyle-Anne Shriver writes today at American Thinker:
Well, of course, he got a pass. Actually Obama got far more than a pass. He was allowed by an ideologically-driven, white-guilt-motivated media to hop, skip, and jump his way to the pinnacle of world power without ever producing one single shred of verifiable evidence that he could do anything whatsoever but run his full-of-utter-BS mouth — even that, constantly enabled by a teleprompter. And Republicans winked and nodded and permitted the whole Orwellian spectacle due to their fear of being forever outcast as racists. It is abundantly clear now why, within moments, Ben Smith/Politico retweets Think Progress that retweets CNN’s so-called in-depth investigation.
To quote Rush Limbaugh — also cited on Twitter — the media and the Left always tell you who they fear.
Add to this what they fear, which would be the truth.
To paraphrase the famous words from Jack Nicholson’s courtroom rant in A Few Good Men, they can’t handle the truth.
