Portrait of a Super Citizen

I've never heard of Henry Louis Gates before Wednesday July 22, 2009. Apparently he is a man amongst us endowed with super citizen status. I dare say being personally acquainted with the occupant of the oval office might somehow delude certain individuals that they indeed are above the rest of us within the eyes of the law. That police officer's are undeserving of their respect, cooperation, and yes even gratitude.

Most of you already are familiar with the cursory details of "what happened". For those who require enlightenment, I'll attempt a brief summary.

The Cambridge, Mass. police received a call to respond to a possible house break-in by two blackmen, one wearing a backpack observed forcing entry into the home's door. When the police arrived one individual was observed inside using the telephone. The police acting in accordance with standard police procedure, ordered the individual to identify himself. The suspected burglar it turns out was Mr Gates, the renter of the dwelling and he was phoning the caretaker to report his faulty doorkey.

Apparently Mr. Gates, startled no doubt by the unexpected police presence inside his home, took the police order as an afront to his blackness. Rather than cooperate, he chose to "demand badge numbers". In furtherance of this ordeal, Gates was not arrested for burglary, but he was arrested for disorderly conduct during a police investigation. Charges being dropped late Tuesday.

We have citizens amongst us who seem to delight, in placing our police officers in the crosshairs of racially motivated reactionary scandal. President Zero during his nationally televised prime time press conference Wednesday, found no room for objectivity. President Zero chose to take the inflammatory low road calling the police action "Stupid". He also had much to say about racial profiling, (and not forgetting how much he is going to need the hispainic vote in 2012) he made sure to include the Latinos. The great and wise jurist, the great uniter, found no reasonableness to the police officer's behavior, he helped a bro' out with his jam, and he pandered to the "other" minority. All in one fell swoop. President Zero as icing on his cake. succeeded in keeping the bright flame of racial hatred (black hatred of white America, that is) alive and well. Ahhh the symmetry of Obama's universe.
