McCAIN HAD LOUSY CAMPAIGN ADVICE AND LOUSY LAWYERS

July 24, 2009

McCain Lawyers Investigated Obama Citizenship
As we asked earlier this week, if questions over President Obama's citizenship were valid, wouldn't they have come out during the presidential campaign?

David Weigel talked with Trevor Potter and other lawyers for Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign who said that they did look into the Obama citizenship rumors and found them without merit.

Said Potter: "To the extent that we could, we looked into the substantive side of these allegations. We never saw any evidence that then-Senator Obama had been born outside of the United States. We saw rumors, but nothing that could be sourced to evidence. There were no statements and no documents that suggested he was born somewhere else. On the other side, there was proof that he was born in Hawaii. There was a certificate issued by the state's Department of Health, and the responsible official in the state saying that he had personally seen the original certificate. There was a birth announcement in the Honolulu Advertiser, which would be very difficult to invent or plant 47 years in advance."

MCCAIN SHOULD ASK FOR THE LEGAL FEES BACK! NOT ONLY DIDN'T THEY DO A THOROUGH INVESTIGATION THEY OBVIOUSLY NEVER THOUGHT TO LOOK AT THE CONSTITUTION. PATHETIC! - GUL

  1. Imagine if they looked in the Constitution and found "NATURAL BORN CITIZEN" and applied the international convention of the day Vattel's "Law of Nations" 1758 from which Western Civilization, including our Founding Fathers, drew this term. It would tell said attorneys 2 US born citizens, and child must be born on home country (US) soil.

  2. Doesn't that just prove the pathetic state of affairs in the US at the moment. Because we ended up with an elder statesman as a candidate on the right, sure a war hero, but a too-long-in-DC, far too mellow fellow, who wasn't up for a fight, we didn't have the fire in the belly leadership to move the agenda. If McCain had any guts he would have taken on everything, EVERYTHING about Soetoro. But he wanted a 'gentlemanly' campaign. All the while Soetoro's side was cheating with their huge overseas illegal pools of Muslim oil cash, their ACORN affiliations, the media fools in their pockets, lie after lie, and on and on. And McCain got just a little 'ruffled' in the one debate. Other than that he was as an eclair on a plate. Just sat there and looked good until some one ate him for lunch. McCain should have had his attorneys on this issue at the slightest whiff of something like this. Too late. Now its up to the patriots to correct.
