Tort Reform Health Care and Senator Cornyn
This evening I participated in a live tele-townhall meeting with Senator Cornyn (R) TX. I was the first caller selected, to ask a question. The pre-screening process went something like this-
"Hello, this is senate aide so-and-so, what's your Health Care related question for Senator Cornyn? "
Me-" Uh, (I always say uh )Barack Obama, in addressing the AMA Doctor's Convention a couple weeks ago, stated he was NOT in favor of MEDICAL TORT REFORM, what is your position? And I have a follow up question."
Senator's Aide "Ok, What's your follow up question?'
Me- "Uhhh, It's about Health Care too," (actually the health care of our Constitution and the question related to Obama's UnNatural Borness)
Senator's Aide radar intently painting the scenery " Exactly what?? about Health Care???" " I think one question is all we will have time for (from you that is)".
At that point I was told to hold and MAYBE I would be selected. I'm thinking fat chance. As it turned out, it must have been between me and a hound dog, because I got on first.
I did the honorable thing, out of respect for Sen. Cornyn, (whom I do respect) and did not ambush him on a live broadcast plus I swear I could hear his aide's heavy breathing while I visualized his hand ready to hit the DISCONNECT BUTTON in an instant. I do plan to drop by his Houston office and bring up the other question though.
As far as Tort Reform (a driver of the high cost of Health Care) Senator Cornyn informed us, of the 5 plans currently under discussion in both Houses of Congress, none of them mention Tort Reform. Sen Cornyn to his credit did say he was was trying
to get Tort Reform in the Senate version.
I am ambivalent about my experience, talking with one of my Senators. Glad to be able to actually express a view on an issue, yet at the same time I felt repressed that the 1st amendment no longer was a right God granted to all of us. I did not feel free. I felt like if I had uttered the unspeakable question, I would be somehow out of line. I do not wish to humiliate a man I respect, but at the same time I expect him to do his duty. So Senator Cornyn and I need to talk some more.
We "Birthers" as we are being labeled by the "Obots" (as we call them back) are guilty of being passionately focused on the love of freedom. The document from which this love comes from is our Constitution. It is the Supreme Law of the Land. It is the original contract with America, and we damn well want it obeyed. So that is why we can be "shrill", and covered in tin foil head to toe as we shout "Where's the Birth Certificate Barack!" "Who's Your Daddy, Barack?" As we all know Barack Sr was never a US citizen and that disqualifies Obama Jr from being eligible to sit as President of the United States. It's in the Constitution.
